Dr Richard Ahlfeld founded Monolith – an AI platform that empowers engineers to build products faster. Dr Ahlfeld completed a PhD in machine learning for aerospace engineering at Imperial College London where he was an EPSRC doctoral prize and Royal Academy of Engineering fellow. Monolith has become the market leader in machine learning for engineering and is backed by world-leading technology experts as well as investors from London and Silicon Valley.
Dr Richard Ahlfeld graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Aerospace and Applied Mathematics from Delft University of Technology. He went on to complete a PhD in Machine Learning for Aerospace Engineering at Imperial College London. During his PhD he worked at NASA on the Mars rocket and was awarded a prize for the largest student contribution to the college. After his PhD, he became a fellow at both EPSRC and the Royal Academy, focusing his research on industrial applications of artificial intelligence for complex product development. Dr Ahlfeld has recently left academia to found Monolith AI, a start-up AI platform that empowers engineers to build their products faster. Monolith has become the market leader in machine learning for engineering and is backed by world-leading technology experts as well as investors from London and Silicon Valley.
