HM Treasury FinTech Envoy for Northern Ireland
Andrew Jenkins is Director at mobility data and analytics company Arity. In his role at Arity, a company founded by The Allstate Corporation, he leads work turning mobility data into insights to help their partners make transportation safer, smarter, and more useful for everyone. Mr Jenkins has more than 20 years of experience in technology across financial services, utilities, insurance, telecoms and transportation sectors. In September 2019, Andrew was appointed as HM Treasury Fintech Envoy for Northern Ireland. Andrew is the lead ambassador for Northern Ireland’s thriving fintech sector, promoting it as a place for firms to develop and grow their business. His mission is to support and promote a sustainable, diverse and collaborative world-class fintech sector in Northern Ireland for the benefit of wider society. Fintech is one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK economy, encompassing innovation in financial services including digital banking, payment technologies, peer-to-peer lending and crowdfunding platforms. Northern Ireland is building a rich and diverse fintech ecosystem, supported by globally renowned technology expertise across cybersecurity, AI, big data and advanced analytics. Belfast has recently been recognised by fDi Intelligence as the world’s top destination for fintech development investment projects, the top city in Europe for new foreign direct investment software development projects and number three in the global Fintech Locations of the Future. 40,000 people in Northern Ireland are employed across the financial and professional services sector, with one in four of those employed in technology roles.
